Advent

Blessings from Southwestern Ohio!
This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalm 118:24)

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dennise Nichole Dittman, a Classical/Crossover Country Christian artist from Hamilton, Ohio. I am blessed to have 2 songs on the charts with “There He Is” and “Let it Fall.” Speaking of blessings... My brand new CD, entitled “Blessings” is currently available, with 10 original songs that are carefully handpicked (and pitched) to me by my friends and colleagues in the Country Christian Gospel world. Music is an integral part of my life. Fulfilling my need to spread the gospel to the world, for the glory of the Lord. To use my voice as an instrument for my personal Savior, Jesus Christ. My prayer is that I can bless you through songs of faith and hope, touch your heart, and bring you closer to Jesus" and to sing For His Glory.

I am delighted to have this opportunity to share with you the good news.
As we enter into this Advent season, we reflect on preparing for the celebration of Jesus' birth at Christmas. Picture the Advent wreath and the four candles that represent the four weeks of Advent.

“The 1st Sunday of Advent symbolizes Hope with the “Prophet’s Candle” reminding us that Jesus is coming.
The 2nd Sunday of Advent symbolizes Faith with the “Bethlehem Candle” reminding us of Mary and Joseph’s     journey to Bethlehem.
The 3rd Sunday of Advent symbolizes Joy with the “Shepherd’s Candle” reminding us of the Joy the world experienced at the coming birth of Jesus.
The 4th Sunday of Advent symbolizes Peace with the “Angel’s Candle” reminding us of the message of the angels: “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men.”

The word “Advent” is of Latin origin and means “coming”. During Christmas-time, Christians reflect and participate in Advent as a way to glorify and celebrate the birth of Jesus and prepare us for his return. During this season and all year round, we need to prepare our hearts to take Christ as our personal Savior and let his love shine outwardly and within us all. Here are some scripture readings to celebrate and prepare for Jesus' birth and for his return. Read and share them with your family! They can be broken into four weeks with a passage for each day!Use them for your very own Advent Calendar! Isaiah 40:1-5,Isaiah 52:7-9, Isaiah 40:9-11, Genesis 3:8-15, Genesis 15:1-6,
